We are seeking a highly skilled Forecasting and Stock Planning Specialist to join our Electrical category team on a 12-month fixed term contract.
This role is ideal for an individual looking to progress to a Category Manager position, with strong numerical skills, a keen eye for product, and a desire to work across analytical and core merchandising aspects, as well as high-level buying and product elements.
As a Forecasting and Stock Planning Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Developing and delivering commercial range plans, in-season forecasting, and stock management strategies.
- Managing key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyzing sales performance to inform contingency planning and adjustments.
- Building strong relationships with suppliers and brands to manage over/under performance.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including logistics, supply chain, trading, and supplier management.
- Overseeing production planning, stock phasing, and delivery schedule management.
- Supporting the Category Manager in developing range plans and analyzing performance data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ownership of the stock plan and creation of line-level forecasts by week with correct phasing.
- Supporting the Category Manager with analysis and insight to develop range plans.
- Analyzing performance vs. the stock plan and adjusting forecasts accordingly.
- Working with the Category Manager to forecast and take action on product performance variations.
- Ownership of WSSI management and stock holding/stock health and weeks cover.
- Overseeing production planning, stock phasing, and delivery schedule management.
- Supporting the Category Manager with analysis to inform strategy and range frameworks.
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Strong management and leadership skills to coach and develop a team of category assistants.
- Confidence in managing a large supply base and deputizing for the Category Manager when required.
- A focus on creating efficiencies and process improvements across all areas of the role.
- Trading-focused skills, developing a fit-for-purpose promotional plan that meets budget, creative expression requirements, and merchandising needs.
- A continual curiosity to interpret data and drive P&L efficiencies and cost reduction.
To be successful in this role, you will need previous experience in forecasting, strong negotiation and influencing skills, and an openness to using data to inform opinion. Experience in merchandising and WSSI management is essential.
