About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gastroenterology Specialist to join our dynamic team at the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Gastroenterologist, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our Gastroenterology services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert care to patients with gastrointestinal disorders, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, and gastrointestinal cancer.
- Work closely with other consultants and members of the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
- Participate in the undergraduate teaching programme and contribute to the education and training of junior doctors and medical students.
- Assist and participate in the development of postgraduate training for F1s, F2s, and other staff as appropriate.
- Act as Educational Supervisor to junior and middle-grade medical staff, being responsible for their appraisal and personal development planning.
- Promote evidence-based practice and respond appropriately to NICE guidance.
- Undertake and supervise relevant clinical audit topics and be involved in risk management and quality assurance.
- Remain up to date and engaged in CME/CPD as per RCP guidelines.
- Respond appropriately to complaints and critical incidents.
