About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gastroenterology Specialist to join our dynamic team at the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Physician, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our Gastroenterology services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert care to patients with gastrointestinal disorders, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, and gastrointestinal cancer.
- Work closely with other consultants and members of the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
- Participate in the undergraduate teaching programme and contribute to the education and training of junior doctors and medical students.
- Assist in the development of postgraduate training for F1s, F2s, and other staff as appropriate.
- Act as Educational Supervisor to junior and middle-grade medical staff, responsible for their appraisal and personal development planning.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest clinical developments and best practices in Gastroenterology, and apply this knowledge to improve patient care and outcomes.
- Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and protocols, and participate in quality assurance and risk management activities.
