Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join our Spinal Service team within the Trauma & Orthopaedic department. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care, working closely with consultants, specialist registrars, and other healthcare professionals.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced clinical care and expertise in spinal care, including assessment, examination, investigation, and diagnosis of patients.
  • Work autonomously as an ACP, managing a caseload of patients and clinical priorities according to agreed protocols and working practices.
  • Deliver individualized patient care, with direct responsibility for assessment, examination, investigation/diagnostic procedures, and diagnosis of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed presentations.
  • Appropriately treat patients, resulting in the safe management and appropriate onward referral or discharge of patients at the end of the care episode.
  • Receive and triage referrals via a variety of sources.
  • Participate in patient reviews, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Utilize scope of advanced practice to undertake Non-Medical Prescribing role and advise on medicine management issues associated with the patient group, working within Trust policy for Medicines Management.

Person Specification

We are looking for an experienced Advanced Clinical Practitioner with a strong background in spinal care. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Professional registration with a relevant professional body.
  • Non-Medical prescribing course (in eligible professions).
  • MSc in clinical practice.
  • Advanced clinical practice skills.
  • Evidence of research and audit.
  • Evidence of implementing change.
  • Evidence of dissemination of knowledge in wider healthcare organisations.
