About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Editor to join our Content Acquisition Team at Taylor & Francis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for commissioning high-quality content for our portfolio of journals, working closely with researchers, editors, and other stakeholders to deliver a robust pipeline of published material.

Key Responsibilities
  • Content Analysis and Commissioning: Conduct in-depth analysis of academic fields and growth areas to identify opportunities for article submissions, and develop structured commissioning plans to drive content acquisition.
  • Researcher Engagement: Build strong relationships with researchers and research groups to commission high-quality content, and work closely with them to act as key ambassadors and advocates for Taylor & Francis journals.
  • Content Delivery: Liaise with editors, authors, and other key partners to ensure timely delivery of commissioned content, and work closely with the Content Acquisition Team to meet targets and deadlines.
  • Editorial Policies and Procedures: Develop a thorough understanding of Taylor & Francis' Editorial Policies and ensure their implementation across all aspects of the role.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members to ensure flexibility and effective collaboration, and contribute to a positive and inclusive team culture.
Requirements
  • Relevant Academic or Working Background: A strong academic or working background in disciplines within Medicine and Health, with a proven track record of working in academic publishing.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively and work to deadlines.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with researchers, editors, and other stakeholders.
  • Computer Literacy: High-level computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, and internet browsers, with experience with Salesforce desirable.
  • Interest in Open Access and Publishing: An active interest in open access, open data, and open science, as well as publishing and related matters.
