Financial Strategy Partner
Join our dedicated Finance team as a Financial Strategy Partner.

This is a full-time hybrid role, allowing for a blend of remote work and office collaboration.

The Finance Team is integral to overseeing the financial resources of the organization.

Our team is committed to ensuring the financial stability of the organization, aiding all departments in reaching their objectives through effective financial management and thorough oversight.

The ideal candidate will possess a background in retail finance, particularly with experience in EPOS systems. Responsibilities will include the preparation of timely and precise financial management reports, encompassing budgets, forecasts, cost center analyses, and commentaries. It is essential that non-financial managers can interpret this data to grasp the financial implications of their decisions.

You will play a key role in maintaining the financial health and sound management of resources.

Your duties will include the production of monthly management accounts for trading, ensuring that accruals, prepayments, and adjustments are accurately calculated and recorded. Additionally, you will ensure that income is correctly imported from various systems and that invoiced costs are reported accurately, reflecting the true financial performance of trading.


  • Maintain and regularly reconcile trading balance sheet accounts with precision.
  • Present monthly financial performance to senior management, providing clear explanations of significant movements and drivers in relation to budgets and forecasts.
  • Conduct independent monthly review meetings with the Director and operational managers, serving as the primary contact for supporting budget holders with commercial, capital, and investment proposals.
  • Challenge operational leaders to ensure all concepts are thoroughly evaluated before business decisions are made.
A relevant financial qualification such as CCAB is preferred, along with evidence of ongoing professional development.

  • Demonstrated experience as a Financial Strategy Partner in retail finance, with proficiency in EPOS systems and stock accounting.
  • Proven track record in developing and monitoring annual budgets within a multi-cost center framework.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with senior management and colleagues across the finance department.
  • Strong understanding of management accounting requirements in a retail context, including knowledge of charity retail accounting, VAT implications for charities, and Gift Aid.
  • Familiarity with computerized finance systems, such as Sun.
