Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Account Handler to enhance our SME Financial Lines team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing clients' insurance needs, which includes handling inquiries, processing renewals, making mid-term adjustments, obtaining quotes, and managing premium invoicing. Your commitment to delivering exceptional service to our SME clients will be essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the achievement of client retention goals by providing outstanding service.
  • Collaborate with the Account Executive to develop effective renewal strategies and attend client meetings as needed.
  • Conduct market research to identify the most competitive insurance terms available.
  • Present renewal terms to clients and ensure timely issuance of renewal documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with premium collection procedures prior to the start of coverage.
  • Handle all client queries professionally, adhering to service standards.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation using our internal systems.
  • Prepare professional documentation using Howden templates.
  • Process adjustments in accordance with established procedures.
  • Promote cross-selling of products from other divisions.
  • Assist other branches and resources as required.

Required Knowledge:

  • Proficient understanding of general insurance principles and compliance with the CII's Code of Ethics and GDPR.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working with SME or commercial clients.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong technical insurance skills, evaluated through regular assessments.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Efficient work processing abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional client service and communication skills.
  • Effective negotiation and broking capabilities.
  • Ability to analyze client information and adapt communication accordingly.
  • Persuasive and influential communication skills.

Qualifications:

  • GCSEs A-C in Mathematics and English.
  • Cert CII is desirable.
  • Familiarity with Acturis is a plus.
