Mechanical Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust. As a Mechanical Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hospital's mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and building services.
Key Responsibilities- Perform planned and reactive maintenance and repairs across our hospital sites, including Southampton General and Princess Anne.
- Work with a range of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and building services.
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure the effective operation of our hospital's facilities.
- Develop and maintain a high level of technical knowledge and skills to stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
- Time served apprenticeship from a recognised body or equivalent in an Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Services discipline.
- Expert specialist training in electrical/mechanical services, systems, and equipment.
- Vocational qualifications, following training/courses to satisfy the Trust's ever-expanding complex nature of equipment.
- Member of registered/professional bodies such as the IHEEM, IMechE, CISBE for the jobholder's specialist field.
- Practical experience within the building services engineering contracting and maintenance industries, within the NHS or similar government organisation.
- Competent Person Sterilisation, Competent Person Washer/Disinfectors, Competent Person Confined spaces. Competent Person Steam, Competent Person Medical Gas, Competent Person Water Hygiene AP LV as per HTM 06-02.
