Mechanical Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust. As a Mechanical Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hospital's mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and building services.
Key Responsibilities- Perform planned and reactive maintenance and repairs across our hospital sites, including Southampton General and Princess Anne.
- Work with our team to identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring minimal disruption to hospital services.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination of maintenance activities.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of our hospital's mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and building services.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve our maintenance processes and procedures.
- Time-served apprenticeship from a recognized body or equivalent experience in an electrical/mechanical engineering services discipline.
- Expert specialist training in electrical/mechanical services, systems, and equipment, including fault-finding, repair, inspection, and commissioning.
- Vocational qualifications, following training/courses to satisfy the Trust's complex equipment needs.
- Relevant and recent experience in similar maintenance organizations, with a sound trade working knowledge and ability to demonstrate leadership qualities.
