Mechanic Technician

Tradebe is seeking a skilled Mechanic Technician to join our team at our Fawley site.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure plant availability by identifying and undertaking repair and maintenance requirements as necessary.
- Perform duties in accordance with documented work requirements, legislation, and company policies, maintaining high standards in safety, quality, and environment.
- Advise management of safety issues and carry out risk assessments and method statements for routine and defect maintenance tasks.
- Maintain a good standard of housekeeping and be responsible for determining and executing repair and preventative maintenance to mechanical machinery.
- Carry out planned maintenance, assist other maintenance colleagues in routine tasks or major overhauls, and provide mechanical maintenance support to maximise plant operations.
- Provide assistance and support to the Engineering Department as directed by the Maintenance Manager and recommend modifications or maintenance procedures that enhance the department's performance.
- Assist in the detailed planning of and preparation for plant maintenance shut-down periods.
- Numeracy, literacy, and experience of computerised software packages.
- Good communication skills and a team player.
- Valid Driving Licence and FLT Driver.
- High standard of workmanship and flexibility in approach to work.
- Good experience in mechanical maintenance and installation, proven experience of refurbishing pumps, conveyors, elevators, shredders, hydraulics, filter presses, bearings, gear boxes, fans, etc.
- Good knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation and knowledge of DCS, ESD, and PLC-based control systems.
- NVQ Level III or HNC in mechanical maintenance or recognised technicians' apprenticeship.
- Salary from £32,000 - £35,000.
- Quarterly bonus.
- 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays.
