Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Technical Design Specialist to join our team of industry experts. As a key member of our technical services team, you will provide technical and design support to our customers, working closely with our software and connector product ranges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to customers through our helpdesk, utilizing your expertise in reading architectural and engineering plans and information.
  • Undertake roof, floor, and wall designs, as well as remedial works, to meet customer specifications and requirements.
  • Develop bespoke designs to customer needs, working closely with key stakeholders to provide solutions to complex design, engineering, and software queries.
  • Identify and capture knowledge of multiple products from senior subject matter experts, ensuring a future pipeline of in-house expertise.
  • Contribute to engineering discussions between the Technical, R&D, and Software Development departments.
  • Identify customer support trends and work with the Technical Team to improve our technical service offering.
  • Review internal and customer software releases to understand new features and provide pre-release feedback to the Software Development teams.
  • Contribute to and maintain content on our technical portal.
  • Support the onboarding of new customers through the transition to our software, metalwork, and beyond, providing exemplary technical and design support.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience in reading technical drawings, calculations, and specifications.
  • Experience using AutoCAD or equivalent draughting package.
  • Use of either Floor, Truss, or Timber frame draughting, and design software essential.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
