Electrical Field Service Technician Job Description

We're seeking an experienced Electrical Field Service Technician to join our team in London. As a key member of our Distribution Business Segment, you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventative maintenance activities on power products in the field, adhering to documented schedules and standards.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to product specialists or supervisors, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Complete required documentation, including service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, and quality documents.
  • Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge in line with business requirements.
  • Maintain service vehicles and tools in a clean and operational condition.
  • Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation, reporting any issues or incidents to site management and supervisors.
  • Work with minimal supervision, demonstrating the ability to accurately diagnose faults and complete service documentation in a timely manner.
  • Identify and highlight 'upsell' opportunities to customers, ensuring that rejected opportunities are documented on the service worksheet before customer signature.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in diagnosing and repairing power equipment.
  • Mechanical and electrical experience, with a strong understanding of electrical theory and troubleshooting.
  • 18th Edition Electrical qualification and City & Guilds or equivalent in electrical engineering.
  • Experience with LV/HV switchgear and PLC control systems is desirable but not essential.
