Academic Library Liaison Officer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Academic Library Liaison Officer to join our team at Blackburn College. As a key member of our library team, you will be responsible for providing excellent support to our academic staff and students, ensuring they have access to the resources they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with academic staff to understand their research needs and provide tailored support.
  • Provide training and guidance on the use of online resources, including databases, e-journals, and e-books.
  • Collaborate with other library staff to develop and deliver library services and programs.
  • Contribute to the development of library policies and procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service to students and staff, responding to queries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of online resources and ability to provide training and guidance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Minimum level 2 or equivalent qualification in literacy and numeracy.
  • Customer service or administrative qualification at Level 2 or above, or willingness to work towards within two years of appointment.
