Procurement Services Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Services Manager to join our team on a part-time basis. As a key member of our Financial Services department, you will play a crucial role in managing procurement activities, ensuring compliance with UK Public Sector procurement regulations, and supporting staff in achieving their procurement objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Procurement Service Delivery: Provide a customer-focused procurement service to all Faculties and Professional Services, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services.
  • Procurement Guidance: Offer expert guidance on complex procurement matters, ensuring compliance with regulations and internal procedures.
  • Procurement Planning: Lead the preparation of procurement plans, tenders, and contracts, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Supplier Management: Monitor supplier performance and contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement practices, ensuring value for money.
  • Procurement Data Analysis: Analyse procurement data to make informed recommendations and support decision-making, ensuring data-driven procurement decisions.
  • Compliance: Ensure legal compliance, particularly with Public Sector Procurement Legislation, and maintain accurate records.
  • Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with external suppliers, stakeholders, and consortia, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
Person Specification:
  • Essential: Degree or relevant experience, with evidence of continuing professional development in procurement (e.g., CIPS membership).
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience in a procurement environment, particularly with public sector tendering and contract management.
  • Procurement Knowledge: Strong knowledge of UK Public Sector procurement legislation.
  • Organisational Skills: Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects.
  • IT Skills: Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
