We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Services Manager to join our team on a part-time basis. As a key member of our Financial Services department, you will play a crucial role in managing procurement activities, ensuring compliance with UK Public Sector procurement regulations, and supporting staff in achieving their procurement objectives.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide a customer-focused procurement service to all departments and teams.
- Offer guidance on complex procurement matters, ensuring compliance with regulations and internal procedures.
- Lead the preparation of procurement plans, tenders, and contracts.
- Monitor supplier performance and contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement practices.
- Analyse procurement data to make informed recommendations and support decision-making.
- Ensure legal compliance, particularly with Public Sector Procurement Legislation.
- Manage relationships with external suppliers, stakeholders, and consortia.
- Essential:
- Degree or relevant experience, with evidence of continuing professional development in procurement (e.g., CIPS membership).
- Previous experience in a procurement environment, particularly with public sector tendering and contract management.
- Strong knowledge of UK Public Sector procurement legislation.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills.
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Desirable:
- Experience with paperless procurement systems and tools such as In-Tend and Business World.
- Knowledge of current issues in higher education.
