Salary: £28,000 - £40,000 based on experience

We are collaborating with a leading manufacturer of customized, high-end scientific instruments that cater to various sectors, including geophysics, geochemistry research, materials science, and the nuclear industry.

About the Role

We are seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate may be a graduate in Physics, Astrophysics, Environmental Science, or a related field, with or without prior industry experience, who possesses a practical mindset. Alternatively, we welcome applications from engineers with experience in the analytical instrument sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with customers while demonstrating meticulous attention to detail.
  • Utilize a broad skill set encompassing electronic, mechanical, electrical, and scientific knowledge.
  • Consideration will be given to ex-forces candidates with an Electrical or Electronic background.
  • Exhibit self-motivation, a willingness to learn, and a natural curiosity.
  • Experience with scientific equipment is highly desirable but not mandatory.
  • Be flexible and willing to travel internationally, occasionally independently, up to approximately 20% of the time.

This position is primarily based at our headquarters in Wrexham. The role involves comprehensive testing and installation of advanced scientific instruments.

Initially, you will spend time in the assembly section to understand the construction of the instruments, followed by testing to ensure compliance with specifications. Subsequently, you will travel to customer locations to assist with installations and provide on-site training.

Travel opportunities will include destinations across the globe, such as China, the USA, Europe, and Australia.
