Transport Operations Manager

Reed Procurement is seeking an experienced Transport Manager to oversee the coordination and direction of transport system-related operations for a manufacturing and supply company in the Thurrock area.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement efficient route planning strategies to optimize transportation operations.
- Manage drivers and resources to meet work demands, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
- Oversee the loading and unloading of flatbed lorries, ensuring compliance with weights and measurements regulations.
- Ensure the company's fleet of vehicles operates in accordance with legislation and regulations, maintaining accurate records of vehicle inspections and services.
- Monitor fleet costs and ensure they stay within budget, implementing cost-saving measures as needed.
- Strong understanding of weights and measurements, commercial vehicle legislation, and route planning principles.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with drivers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- CPC License an advantage.
A competitive salary of up to £40k, plus overtime, 20 days' holiday plus bank holidays, and auto-enrolment pension.
