About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our culinary team at Hilton Birmingham Metropole. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for supervising staff and ensuring high levels of food preparation to deliver an exceptional guest experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and motivate a team of culinary professionals to achieve high standards of food preparation and presentation.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of menus and culinary programs to drive revenue growth and enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Contribute to the control of food costs, improving gross profit margins, and achieving departmental and financial targets.
  • Ensure all food preparation meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and hygiene.
  • Prepare and present high-quality food, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Supervise staff, providing coaching and guidance to ensure they meet the required standards.
  • Assist in the training of new staff members, ensuring they are equipped to meet the demands of the role.
  • Report maintenance, hygiene, and hazard issues to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Comply with hotel security, fire regulations, and all health and safety and food safety legislation.
  • Be environmentally aware and contribute to the hotel's sustainability initiatives.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or strong experience as a Demi Chef de Partie role.
  • Strong coaching skills and ability to motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with colleagues.
  • NVQ Level 3 in a culinary discipline.
  • Achieved Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Supervisory experience and ability to lead a team.
  • Positivity, ambition, and genuine friendliness.
  • Team player with a passion for excellent customer service.
  • A drive to always learn more and dedication to personal development.
  • Great communicator and pride in personal presentation.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Previous kitchen experience in a similar role.
  • Intermediate Food Hygiene certification.
  • Knowledge of current food trends and culinary innovations.
