About the RoleThe Deputy Director of Estates and Facilities will be responsible for providing strategic direction and advice on the estate, ensuring that the built environment is safe for patients, visitors, and staff, is fit for the future, and adapts to changing healthcare needs.
The successful candidate will hold corporate and professional responsibility for estates and facilities service standards, governance, policies, financial management, statutory and regulatory compliance, and risk management.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategic plans for the estate, ensuring alignment with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Provide expert advice on estates and facilities management, including budgeting, procurement, and project management.
- Lead and manage a team of estates and facilities professionals, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards, including health and safety, environmental, and accessibility requirements.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including patients, visitors, staff, and external partners.
- Significant senior management experience in a large organization in estates and facilities management.
- Chartered professional registration/accreditation in a relevant discipline (e.g., RIBA, CIOB, RICS, CIBSE, etc.).
- Technical, construction, and project management skills.
- Highly effective interpersonal skills to lead complex negotiations and build strategic comprehension.
- Ability to write and present complex information, including business cases, tender specifications, and board reports.
