We are seeking a dedicated Operations Director to oversee, manage, and guide our exceptional teams within our Quarrying and Production Operations. You will be instrumental in driving growth and shaping the future of our operations.
Key Responsibilities
This is a remarkable opportunity for a seasoned Operations Director at Tarmac's largest open granite quarry. You will have full accountability for leading a highly skilled and experienced team, focusing on fostering a world-class health and safety culture alongside strong operational performance.
Your primary responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Guiding the teams towards achieving a zero-harm target by adhering to all health and safety regulations and fostering a culture of safety interdependence.
- Collaborating with the Midlands Leadership team to formulate and implement operational strategies that align with Tarmac and CRH's broader objectives.
- Providing visible leadership to cultivate a positive workplace culture, emphasizing talent attraction and retention, and promoting cross-functional career development.
- Sharing and applying best practices from Tarmac, CRH, and the industry to enhance operational efficiency.
- Ensuring our asset base is prepared for both immediate and long-term needs in partnership with Finance, Commercial, and Land & Natural Resources teams.
- Assisting in identifying and executing both development and sustaining capital projects.
- Building robust relationships with customers, suppliers, and industry stakeholders.
- Placing health & safety, inclusion & diversity, and sustainability at the core of our operations.
The successful Operations Director will be an inspiring leader, capable of envisioning and motivating their team. A proven history of achieving strong health and safety and financial outcomes is essential, along with the ability to enhance individual performance and nurture talent.
Experience in the Quarrying or Mining sector is a crucial requirement for this role.
