Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Registered Nurse to join our team at Spring Hill Medical Centre. As a key member of our nursing team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of excellent healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake and record patient measurements, including height, weight, urinalysis, blood pressure, ECGs, and smoking history.
  • Provide childhood immunisations and travel advice, including vaccinations.
  • Conduct cervical screening and fit/remove vaginal ring pessaries (with appropriate training).
  • Support patients with smoking cessation and undertake new patient checks.
  • Conduct contraception reviews, including pill checks and administration of Depo-Provera (with appropriate training).
  • Provide advice on and review ambulatory blood pressure monitoring and fit 24-hour blood pressure monitoring.
  • Perform 72-hour ECGs and basic dressings and wound reviews.
  • Suture and clip removal, ear assessment and irrigation (with appropriate training).
  • Support the provision of Long Term Condition reviews and the flu vaccination programme.
  • Undertake NHS health checks and document all findings in patients' records.
  • Support the emergency management of patients and provide basic life support if required.
  • Act as a chaperone and provide health promotion advice.
  • Recognise and manage anaphylaxis and perform basic life support.
  • Escalate/referral of patients to other members of the team/GP when required.
Requirements
  • Full Covid-19 vaccination status (and be able to evidence this).
  • Computer and telephone literacy.
  • Experience of EMIS preferred, though training can be provided to the right candidate.
  • Experience of working in General Practice would be preferred.
  • A clear DBS.
  • Sickness and holiday cover may be required.
  • Weekend support with flu vaccination clinics if required.
  • NMC registration.
  • Ability to provide high-quality care in line with practice policies and national guidance.
Working Arrangements

This is a part-time position, working 20 hours over 2 days. The successful candidate will be required to work at Spring Hill Medical Centre and may be required to work at Galley Common Medical Centre in the future. Hours will be agreed at the time of offer.

The successful candidate will be eligible to join the NHS pension scheme and will be fully supported in their position.
