We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our London office. This role is integral to the finance department, requiring meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage tasks effectively within a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities
  • Manage bookkeeping functions, including bank reconciliations and controls.
  • Process purchase invoices, supplier payments, and remittances while liaising with suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate customer accounting records and reconciliations, addressing queries from both suppliers and customers.
  • Prepare and post journals encompassing accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and month-end control reconciliations.
  • Prepare VAT returns and EC Sales Lists.
  • Generate intrastate reports.
  • Compile monthly management reports.
  • Support the business development team with data analysis.
Additional Duties
  • Provide general office administrative support.
  • Assist with basic tax compliance matters.
  • Attend meetings at other Parker Lane offices as required.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum education level of A Level/GNVQ or equivalent.
  • English and Maths GCSEs graded A-C, or equivalent qualifications.
  • AAT qualification is desirable.
  • Previous experience (1 year or more) in a bookkeeping and/or accounting role.
  • Comprehensive understanding of regulations governing exports and imports from/to the UK.
  • Proficiency in VAT/Intrastat and EC Sales Lists.
  • Familiarity with XERO accounting software is advantageous.
  • Strong IT skills and knowledge.
