About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Engineer to join our team at Jane Street. As a key member of our Engineering group, you will be responsible for maintaining the facilities of our London office, ensuring the smooth operation of our trading floors, colocation facilities, and data centres.

Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in MEP disciplines, including plant infrastructure, CRACs, UPS's, HVAC, generators, fire prevention, domestic services, and building management systems. You will be comfortable working with a wide range of colleagues across several business areas and have a working knowledge of data centre computer hardware and trading desktop hardware.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the operation and maintenance needs of mission-critical data centres, trading floors, or similar 24/7 facilities, including managing vendors.
  2. Develop and implement effective solutions to complex engineering problems.
  3. Collaborate with colleagues and external vendors to execute our vision and ensure seamless connectivity with our satellite offices and colocation facilities around the world.
  4. Participate in on-call rotations to respond to critical system emergencies.
  5. Communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders with clarity and accuracy.

About You

  1. 5+ years of experience in a related field, with a strong focus on engineering and technical operations.
  2. Proven track record of delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
  3. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and outside the box.
  4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and external partners.
  5. Fluency in English is required.
