Job Title: Transport Manager

Sharpsmart UK is seeking an experienced Transport Manager to lead our Transport Team in Spennymoor. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing depot operations, ensuring compliance with transport regulations, and delivering an efficient collection service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage depot operations, including scheduling, analysis, and planning
  • Ensure compliance with transport regulations, including CPC qualification and ADR knowledge
  • Investigate incidents, assist in disciplinary processes, and conduct driver training and auditing
  • Manage performance, absence, and KPIs, including 121s and interviewing
  • Liaise with internal departments and external third parties to support vehicle and supplier procurement
  • Submit transport updates and reports to the Senior Management Team
  • Recruit and develop transport employees, ensuring health and safety standards are met

Requirements:

  • CPC qualification and ADR knowledge
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar transport management role
  • Experience of vehicle routing and geographical knowledge of the North East region
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize
  • People management skills, including hiring, performance management, and disciplinary actions
  • Excellent PC skills, including Microsoft packages and Intermediate Excel skills
  • Full UK driving license
