Job Description

Job Title: Environmental Sustainability Manager


A leading recruitment agency, Alexander Steele Recruitment, has partnered with an international food manufacturer to recruit an Environmental Sustainability Manager based in the UK. The successful candidate will lead the review and development of the company's environmental management policies and systems for UK sites. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, and regulatory affairs, to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote sustainable practices.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Effectively communicate the company's sustainable development strategy to colleagues and ensure its aspects are understood by senior leadership across all sites.
  • Lead the environmental management audit programme, ensuring these are completed in accordance with the agreed schedule and provide necessary guidance and support to all teams.
  • Manage the annual environmental review for UK sites, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement effective waste management and recycling processes and procedures.
  • Lead the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) programme, ensuring all necessary assessments are completed in a timely manner.


Requirements:


  • 5+ years' experience in a dynamic food manufacturing environment.
  • IEMA Certification/NEBOSH Environmental Certification.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • A strong track record of leading and motivating teams in previous positions.
  • Strong organisational skills and an exceptional attention to detail.
