Disrepair Surveyor

We are seeking a skilled Disrepair Surveyor to join our team at Brackenberry Ltd. as we work closely with a Local Authority in Lewisham to assist with the appointment of a Disrepair Surveyor on a 3-month contract, likely to be extended at the client's discretion.

Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate with tenants and their representatives to arrange access for inspections and produce detailed reports with photographic evidence, including a schedule of work items and specifications.
  • Conduct pre- and post-inspections to identify repairs, defects, and potential improvements, and prepare specifications and estimates as required.
  • Attend properties to conduct inspections and provide advice to tenants on health and housing issues, maintaining proper records of visits and inspection findings, and making recommendations to senior managers on areas needing further action.
  • Work independently and manage a variable caseload related to disrepair and insurance.
  • Investigate, monitor, and manage works related to disrepair issues, structural repairs, and insurance works.

Requirements:

  • Excellent knowledge of building maintenance and experience of the diverse issues affecting poor health in social housing.
  • Degree/HNC and/or membership of a recognized professional body or equivalent qualification and experience in legal disrepair.

  • You should be available to work immediately or at short notice.
  • You should have the right to work in the UK.
  • This role requires a basic DBS.
