Job Description

**Job Title:** Asset Building Surveyor

**Job Type:** Full-time, Temporary, Ongoing

**Location:** Hybrid Working (North London)

**Salary:** £300 per day Umbrella LTD (Inside IR35)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to join our repairs team in North London. As an Asset Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our property assets, ensuring that they are in good condition and meet the needs of our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Disrepair Work: Conduct thorough inspections of properties to identify disrepair issues and develop effective solutions to address them.
  • Refurbishment Work: Oversee the refurbishment of properties, including kitchen, bathroom, and window renewals, to ensure that they meet the required standards.
  • Void Works: Manage the preparation and maintenance of void properties to ensure that they are ready for occupation.
  • Complex Repair Works: Coordinate and manage complex repair works, including damp and mould remediation, to ensure that they are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Day-to-Day Repairs: Conduct regular inspections of properties to identify and address day-to-day repair issues.
Collaboration and Communication
  • Work closely with the AD Director of Repairs, Strategic Head of Housing Repairs, and other delegated managers to develop and implement effective systems for managing property assets.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Housing services to ensure a joint approach to improving quality and customer satisfaction for residents.
  • Support and manage a flexible approach to the deployment of resources within the Property Services Division to respond effectively to fluctuations in workload.
  • Highlight key investment needs and considerations to the Property Planning and Assets Team to ensure that works are appropriately planned in major works programmes.
Requirements
  • A degree in Building Surveying or equivalent experience in delivering the disrepair service.
  • Extensive experience in building surveying and/or repairs operational delivery or supervising contracts or disrepair case management.
  • Extensive experience of construction and housing maintenance works and the ability to recognise repair problems and identify defects and relevant remedial works.
  • A thorough grasp of building construction and a working knowledge of domestic mechanical and electrical installations.
