Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team at Coveris, Spalding. As a key member of our payroll department, you will be responsible for processing monthly payroll from start to finish, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all aspects of payroll processing.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Process monthly payroll, including checking updates, processing additional payments, and ensuring accurate recording of tax codes, NI contributions, and other deductions.
  2. Calculate and process salary adjustments, variable pay items, and other payroll-related transactions.
  3. Check time and attendance reports, making necessary adjustments to overtime import into the payroll system.
  4. Process sick and statutory payments, deal with pay queries, and arrange advances as necessary.
  5. Prepare month-end and ad-hoc reports, including auto-enrolment processing and payment to third parties.
  6. Ensure adherence to company and government policies and procedures.
  7. Assist the payroll manager as needed.
Requirements
  1. At least a year's relevant payroll experience.
  2. Clear understanding of payroll-related legislation, tax, and PAYE procedures.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and manage workload effectively.
  5. Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  6. Computer literacy, including MS Outlook, Intermediate Excel, and Word.
