About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to join our team as an Extra Care Scheme Manager. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our Extra Care Housing provision, ensuring that our residents receive high-quality care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Oversee and manage the dedicated care and support staff allocated to the scheme.
    • Work with the Registered Care Manager to create a wide network of partners from the local community matching needs of the tenants within the unit.
  • Care and Support Planning
    • Ensure that the tenant's Care and Support Plan is in place and reflects their needs.
    • Make tenants aware of service expectations and obtain feedback on the appropriateness of the service provided.
  • Community Engagement
    • Ensure the promotion of a good community spirit on the scheme.
    • Ensure each morning that every tenant is well.
  • Health and Safety
    • Ensure hygiene and Health & Safety regulations are followed.
    • Take responsibility for communal facilities for security, reporting of defects, supervision of activities if required, and general cleanliness.
  • Complaints and Safeguarding
    • Investigate any complaints as directed by the Care Manager/Deputy Manager and action any outcomes in accordance with the Company's complaints procedure.
    • Ensure our Safeguarding policies and procedures are followed in line with policies and procedures.
  • Staff Supervision and Development
    • Conduct staff supervisions and reviews where required.
    • Conduct Annual Appraisals in accordance with the Company policy for all staff.
    • Identify any training requirements and liaise with the Training Manager to address these issues where necessary.
Requirements
  • NVQ level 3 as a minimum (required).
  • 2-3 years supervisory social care experience.
  • Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (desirable).
  • Hold or be prepared to work towards a Care and Management Level 4 or equivalent.
