Role Overview

As a Talent Acquisition Policy Manager, your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Leading the formulation, upkeep, and strategic management of recruitment policies and directives, which encompass knowledge sharing, communication strategies, and skill enhancement for resourcing and human resources.
  • Assessing the implications of proposed modifications to hiring or workforce management protocols, or new initiatives from governmental bodies, ensuring that policy ramifications and risks are thoroughly understood, and that necessary policy adjustments are enacted and communicated effectively.
  • Offering expert guidance and policy interpretation, while also consulting with the Civil Service Commission and legal advisors to inform decision-making, address ad hoc resourcing challenges, and develop innovative approaches that facilitate the successful achievement of organizational objectives.
  • Collaborating across the People and Capability Directorate with HR Business Partners, HR Casework Teams, and Resource Account Managers, as well as engaging with the Government People Group and other governmental departments to comprehend broader resourcing trends, pinpoint common challenges, and disseminate best practices.
  • Managing intricate cases and recruitment scenarios that are escalated through the Service Delivery model from the HR Casework Team and Policy Knowledge Leads.
  • Ensuring adherence to Civil Service Commission Recruitment Principles, DWP resourcing guidelines, and employment legislation, proactively addressing issues and escalating concerns as necessary.
Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Extensive experience in the complete HR policy lifecycle, including evidence gathering, design, consultation with Trade Unions, and implementation, along with conducting comprehensive equality analyses when necessary. You will have a proven track record of collaborating closely with key stakeholders across the organization, including HR, Resourcing, and Legal teams to implement policy changes.[Lead criteria].
  • A pragmatic approach to decision-making, with the ability to grasp the strategic context within the organization and its broader environment, alongside an understanding of the potential business impact of proposals, utilizing this insight to evaluate risks and options while providing practical solutions to business challenges.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the capability to build and maintain a broad and trusted network to achieve work objectives. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to challenge assumptions at all levels and to influence and persuade effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and efficiently, managing a diverse and dynamic workload while responding flexibly to emerging business challenges.
