Job Title: Support Worker for Autistic Child

Location: Byker, Newcastle Upon Tyne

Hourly Rate: £12.40

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team and provide support to Lucas, a 6-year-old boy with autism. As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for accompanying and supporting Lucas to access the local community, and activities of his choice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accompany and support Lucas to access the local community and activities of his choice
  • Provide personal care to Lucas, including assistance with daily living tasks
  • Use positive behavior support techniques to manage challenging behaviors
  • Communicate effectively with Lucas's family and other professionals involved in his care

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with children with autism and challenging behaviors
  • Resilience and ability to manage stress
  • Good level of fitness and ability to keep up with Lucas's energetic pace
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Car driver's license
