Support Worker for Child with Autism

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Disability North. The successful candidate will be working closely with a young girl with autism, providing care and support to enable her to engage in her chosen activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the child with daily living tasks, including personal care and hygiene
  • Assist with communication and social interaction, using a combination of PECS and individual words
  • Encourage and facilitate the child's engagement in activities, such as painting, music, and swimming
  • Provide a safe and supportive environment, with a high level of supervision

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with autism and challenging behaviour
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the child and her family
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the child's changing needs

Working Arrangements:

The successful candidate will be required to work a minimum of 4 hours per week during term time, with the possibility of additional hours during school holidays.

Rate of Pay:

The hourly rate for this position is £13.50.

Important Information:

The successful candidate must have permission to work in the UK at the time of starting their employment.
