About the Job

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Ministry of Defence as a Court Administration Assistant in the Army. As a key member of the Military Court Service, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of a criminal court service for the Royal Navy, Army, and Royal Air Force, as well as civilians subject to Service Discipline.

The successful candidate will be based at the Military Court Centre Bulford, providing administrative support to the Service Courts. This will involve preparing Service and civilian Boards for Courts Martial and Summary Appeal Courts, as well as preparing Pre-Sentence Reports (PSRs) for offenders awaiting sentence.

The role requires strong administrative skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. You will also need to be able to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders, including judiciary, Service Courts, and civilian organisations.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Preparing Service and civilian Boards for Courts Martial and Summary Appeal Courts
  • Preparing Pre-Sentence Reports (PSRs) for offenders awaiting sentence
  • Providing administrative support to the Service Courts
  • Assisting with the administration of applications for custody, warrant, and production order hearings
  • Disseminating legal documentation to applicants and relevant parties


Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have excellent administrative skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. You will also need to be able to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders, including judiciary, Service Courts, and civilian organisations.
