Ours is a diverse workforce, with roles ranging from trainers, human resources, teachers, firefighters and psychologists to storekeepers, financiers, project and programme managers, and policy secretariat staff. There are many different functions and professions delivering key outputs for the Army. As such using data to aid understanding of our workforce is vital.

The Army’s Information Directorate provides the Chief Information Officer function for the Army, leads the Army’s digitalisation, delivers information exploitation services and orchestrates the delivery of digital programmes. The directorate also provides leadership and coherence across the Cyber and Electro-Magnetic Activities (CEMA), Intelligence and Security functions in the Army. The Director’s vision is: Information is valued, exploited and protected as a critical Army asset to maximise advantage in a trusted Single Information Environment

The Defence Learning & Management Capability (DLMC) will enable Defence to analyse, design, deliver, assure and govern policy-compliant Training and Education using a modern, sustainable suite of information services.

DLMC is a high profile, pan-Defence digital transformation programme sitting in the Defence People Portfolio but run by Army as Lead Command.

The Training Administration and Financial Management Information System (TAFMIS) team sit within Army Digital Services (ADS), supporting the TAFMIS system as part of the Defence Learning & Management Capability (DLMC) Programme.

DLMC is a digitally enabled transformation programme that will deliver a modern and integrated learning management and delivery capability for the Whole Force with data exploitation at the core.

The TAFMIS team will be involved with change to allow transition for users from live services to the new services.

The TAFMIS team are currently managed via the Army Digital Services (ADS) organisation, which is part of the Information Exploitation (IX) Pillar within the Directorate of Information - Army Headquarters, Andover.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

**Job description**:
We have a vacancy for a TAFMIS Trainer.

The role is responsible for the delivery, management and improvement of all TAFMIS training courses, including identification and implementation of change to improve efficiency, ensure alignment with policy and to embrace modern training methods.

TAFMIS is a customised, critical capability for Defence, used by MOD to manage the real-world training, events, processes and resources for MOD personnel. It was first developed ~20 years ago as a standalone system within multiple schools, however since, TAFMIS has been amalgamated into a single system and is now hosted on the Army Hosting Environment which provides the necessary virtual machines (VMs) running on managed physical and virtual infrastructure.

With users of TAFMIS requiring role specific training and its use mandated within Joint Service Publication 822, the quality of the training provided by this postholder is pivotal to Defence and Army business. Could you be the right person to step up to this challenge and make a real difference?

Some travel may be required. The majority of training is delivered to students remotely; however approximately 5 days per month is delivered from the TAFMIS classroom, currently at Bovington. The potential to deliver these courses from a classroom in Andover is being investigated.

It should be noted that the DLMC programme will be transitioning training management processes from TAFMIS into new services over time.

**Essential Criteria**:
In this role, it is important to:

- have excellent written and verbal communications skills
- be comfortable working with all levels of stakeholders, with an ability to establish credibility and work collaboratively
- maintain a positive attitude in a busy and changing environment
- have an innovative mindset
- be competent in IT skills

**Person specification**:
**Specific responsibilities will include**:

- Delivery of TAFMIS training across all functional areas, in compliance with the Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT). This will include
