The Role: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our esteemed client, a Secondary School. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the academic success and personal growth of students in a dynamic learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teachers in designing and delivering engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Provide individualized support to students, fostering their understanding and encouraging active participation in classroom activities.
  • Lead pre-planned lessons effectively in the absence of the teacher, ensuring continuity of learning.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans that address individual student needs.
  • Offer constructive feedback to students, monitoring their progress and celebrating their achievements.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive classroom environment by managing student behavior effectively.
  • Participate actively in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and school initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Possess HLTA status or an equivalent qualification recognized within the education sector.
  • Demonstrate proven experience working as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant in a secondary school setting.
  • Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of the secondary school curriculum, particularly at KS3-KS4 levels.
  • Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents, fostering strong relationships built on trust and respect.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team, sharing knowledge and expertise to achieve common goals.
  • Show a genuine commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all students.
