Job Summary:

GSL Education is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated SEN High-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team in Exeter. As a SEN High-Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Development: Create engaging and interactive learning activities that cater to the diverse needs of students with SEND.
  • Student Support: Provide targeted support to students with SEND, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their academic goals.
  • Classroom Culture: Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social and emotional development, diversity, and respect.
  • Mentorship and Leadership: Participate in mentorship and professional development opportunities to enhance your leadership skills and contribute to the growth and development of the team.

Requirements:

  • Education and Training: Possess a solid understanding of educational principles, curriculum development, and special educational needs.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Adaptability and Resourcefulness: Show adaptability and resourcefulness in diverse classroom settings, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Leadership Potential: Demonstrate strong leadership potential, with the ability to inspire and motivate students and colleagues alike.
  • Experience: Possess previous experience as a High-Level Teaching Assistant in a school environment, with a proven track record of supporting students with SEND.
