About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist to join our surgical pharmacy team as maternity leave cover for a period of 12 months.

This is an excellent opportunity for a newly registered pharmacist to gain valuable experience and develop their skills in a dynamic and supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide pharmaceutical care to patients in various specialties on a rotational basis.
  • Ensure that medicines are provided in a timely fashion for in-patients, including clinical and accuracy checking of prescriptions, dispensing medicines, and dealing with medicines for clinical trial patients.
  • Supervise technicians and trainee pharmacists, and educate patients and/or their representatives about their medicines.
  • Liaise with various members of the multi-disciplinary team, including medical and nursing staff.
  • Input patient-related data into computers, and manage and prioritize own workload to tight deadlines.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in pharmacy obtained through four years undergraduate training.
  • Membership of the General Pharmaceutical Council achieved by pre-registration training/experience and examination.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present written and verbal reports to senior hospital staff.
  • Basic keyboard skills and familiarity with routine office software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and PowerPoint.
