Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fluid System Engineer to join our team in the UK. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for performing engineering analysis, including supporting calculations, for specific systems to produce system documentation required for projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Design and Integration
    • Produce, review, and update system documentation for mechanical and thermo-hydraulic design, electrical, operator instructions, human-machine interface, safety and environmental, control logic design, and periodic testing in compliance with engineering rules, methodologies, quality processes, and tools.
  • Instrumentation and Control
    • Perform analysis for defining Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Functional Requirements of the system and production of the I&C logic.
    • Write Instrumentation and Control Functional Requirements, Detailed Functional Diagrams, Functional Test Procedure specifications, and alarms sheets.
  • Mechanical Design
    • Sizing of components (e.g., pumps, pipework, pressure relief valves, tanks).
    • Perform thermal-hydraulic calculations and modeling with in-house or commercial tools.
    • Ensure the 3D model is consistent with the intended system design.
    • Formulate equipment specification and provide data in respective databases or datasheets.
    • Support procurement teams in formulating technical specifications for contract documentation and technical surveillance of supplier documentation.
  • Modification Management
    • Manage requests for modifications to systems issued by external parties by producing specifications and following the engineering cycle.
    • Analyze and verify the applicability of modifications and challenge them as appropriate.
    • Develop technical solutions and present them to internal or external stakeholders to help resolve technical issues.
  • System Coordinator Support
    • Produce and update component datasheets for handovers with detailed designers.
    • Produce and update Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams with relevant design changes for handovers with detailed designers.
Requirements
  • Relevant experience in the nuclear industry, in an operating plant or on an industrial site.
  • Experience in producing design documentation and Test Specifications.
  • Knowledge of process design, nuclear system design, thermal-hydraulic calculation and modeling.
  • Knowledge of EPR system design principles, Instrumentation and Control architecture, and Safety Classification.
  • Knowledge of fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and thermodynamics.
  • Understanding of Instrumentation and Control Design.
  • Ability to effectively manage own workload to produce high-quality documents and respect deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • French-speaking and reading would be an advantage.
