**Job Summary**

MWH Treatment, a leading provider of water and wastewater solutions, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Manager to join our Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the design process for various water and wastewater schemes, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Lead the design team in delivering design responsibilities and ensure a focused approach to meet customer requirements and project objectives.
  • Be accountable for expenditure, drive efficiency, and manage overall outturn costs for design by producing design deliverables within allocated resource hours and by key dates.
  • Organize all elements of design, documenting it in the Design Management Plan and preparing monthly status update reports as necessary.
  • Attend and contribute to all relevant programme, project, and technical meetings.
  • Ensure that the technical solution is produced to outperform on costs, while maintaining quality standards and delivery on time.
  • Provide technical support during construction, assembly, and commissioning stages.
  • Ensure that all technical work is undertaken to the correct standards and specifications, following the appropriate systems of work and quality assurance.
  • Contribute to achieving sustainability targets, particularly by reducing embodied and operational Carbon Footprints of solutions.
  • Communicate and work effectively with people from other partner organizations, backgrounds, and disciplines, utilizing their knowledge and experience and adding to this with your own experience and know-how.
  • Recognize and provide exceptional customer service both internally and with partners and externally with the client, their customers, and the general public.
  • Represent the whole of the MWH business and RSK Group of companies in all client contacts and promote the MWH / RSK reputation.
  • Maintain a positive and solution-oriented approach to work, providing open and honest feedback.
  • Undertake such other duties, training, and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required, and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role.
  • In all internal and external contact, present a professional and positive image of MWH Treatment as well as maintaining mutually constructive, positive, and beneficial relationships.
  • Take all reasonable steps to ensure appropriate confidentiality.

**Requirements:**

  • Proven experience in design management, preferably in the water and wastewater industry.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong technical knowledge of design principles and practices, with the ability to apply this knowledge to complex projects.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders, including clients, partners, and internal teams.
