Job Opportunity: Assistant Conservator

We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Conservator to join our team at the Digital Preservation Coalition. This role will involve working with time-based media artworks, developing a deep understanding of their production techniques, and technical requirements for preservation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Examine and process time-based media artworks, documenting their condition and technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement preservation strategies for time-based media artworks.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including artists, curators, and conservators.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of artworks and equipment.

Requirements:

  • Recognized qualification in conservation or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Ability to work proactively within a team and communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and planning skills.

About the Role:

This is a fixed-term position until 30th June 2024. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a dedicated project to realize the acquisition of a large gift of artworks to the Tate collection.
