Logistics Coordinator - Competitive Salary + Excellent Benefits

Monday to Friday / 08:00 - 17:00

We are looking for a Logistics Coordinator to efficiently oversee the daily operations of the Depot by managing the allocation and basic routing of vehicles. This role is crucial in ensuring top-tier service delivery to clients while maintaining health and safety standards and adhering to environmental and operational compliance. The position also supports employee engagement and fosters continuous improvement in productivity and service quality.

Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will be a well-organized individual with a friendly demeanor, possessing desirable administrative and call handling experience.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively within a team, undertaking a variety of daily tasks, including:

  • Handling calls - engaging with customers and/or our internal call centers and Biffa drivers.
  • Conducting daily debriefs with Biffa drivers – confirming work and addressing any discrepancies or issues.
  • Coordinating with Biffa's customer service department and/or directly with clients to resolve issues, including any hazards reported by drivers.
  • Processing and confirming orders, along with generating and clearing daily reports.
  • Performing administrative duties and maintaining housekeeping standards.

Requirements:

  • Strong familiarity with the local area.
  • Experience in the Transport/Waste Industry.
  • Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to convey information effectively in writing, one-on-one, and over the phone with all levels of personnel, including management, team members, and internal/external clients.
  • Proficient in planning, organizing, and prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Experience working under strict deadlines in a time-sensitive environment.
  • A willingness to adapt and enhance skill sets and knowledge as required by the role/business.
  • Computer literate – comfortable using business software and the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly with strong Excel skills.
