### Job Title: Commis Chef

### Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our friendly, award-winning team as a Commis Chef. As a key member of our culinary team, you will assist the Chef de Partie in preparing food and performing basic cooking tasks.

### Key Responsibilities

* Assist the Chef de Partie in preparing food and performing basic cooking tasks
* Work in different areas of the kitchen, such as vegetables, fish and meat, and sauces, usually on a six-month rotation programme
* Support all chefs to manage and deliver all catering services throughout the home, ensuring resident choice, dignity, confidentiality, and safety are maintained
* Participate in meetings with residents and Heads of Departments to discuss and agree on catering functions across the home and address residents' special needs or dietary requirements
* Prepare nutritional food and beverages to a high standard, as directed by the Chefs, promptly and in accordance with agreed mealtimes
* Prepare special diet meals as needed and as directed by the Chefs

### Requirements

* Hold a catering qualification such as City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ or equivalent
* Hold Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
* Have a minimum of 1-year catering experience
* Demonstrate compassion and commitment to the delivery of high-quality culinary services to residents
* Be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice
