About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Commis Chef to join our team at Avery Healthcare Group Ltd. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting the Chef de Partie in preparing food and performing basic cooking tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Chef de Partie in preparing food and performing basic cooking tasks, including working in different areas of the kitchen such as vegetables, fish and meat, and sauces.
  • Assist in managing and delivering catering services throughout the home, ensuring resident choice, dignity, confidentiality, and safety are maintained.
  • Participate in meetings with residents and Heads of Departments to discuss and agree on catering functions across the home and address residents' special needs or dietary requirements.
  • Prepare nutritional food and beverages to a high standard, as directed by the Chefs, promptly and in accordance with agreed mealtimes.
  • Prepare special diet meals as needed and as directed by the Chefs.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to hold a catering qualification such as City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ or equivalent, and a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate. You will also need to have a minimum of 1-year catering experience and demonstrate compassion and commitment to the delivery of high-quality culinary services to residents.
