Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Export Coordinator to join our team at Reed. As an Ocean Export Agent, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of global trade by providing top-notch customer service and expertly managing supply chain logistics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute export bookings and maintain effective communication with customers.
  • Prepare and manage various export documentation, including commercial invoices, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
  • Proficiently use internal export management systems to track and manage shipments.
  • Document customer requirements in the SOP database to ensure accurate and efficient processing.
  • Conduct credit and denied party screenings prior to shipment to mitigate risk.
  • Adhere to internal quality standards and compliance policies to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Handle client billings accurately and in a timely manner to maintain a positive cash flow.
  • Maintain strong relationships with service providers, including carriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers.
  • Declare permits if required after passing the Customs Competency test to ensure compliance.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Escalate issues to Management when necessary to ensure prompt resolution.
  • Undertake additional tasks to meet departmental needs and goals, as required.
Requirements
  • Minimum tertiary educational level, preferably in a field related to logistics or international trade.
  • 1 to 2 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Understanding of ocean documentation process or experience in the industry is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with clear and concise communication.
  • Proactive with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Good computer skills (Excel, Word) and problem-solving abilities to analyze and resolve issues.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
