Position Overview:
Westlakes Recruit is seeking a highly skilled Principal Civil/Structural Engineer to collaborate with our esteemed nuclear sector clients.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Execute detailed work plans in accordance with contract specifications, ensuring regular inspections are conducted.
2. Maintain accurate records that meet both organizational and legal standards.
3. Address unforeseen technical challenges and other issues as they arise.
4. Develop procurement timelines and coordinate with the procurement team to guarantee that necessary resources are available for project completion.
5. Create Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and Task Briefings.
6. Prepare two-week forecasts in partnership with the project team.
7. Document site activities through Site Diaries and Allocation Sheets.

Health, Safety & Environment:
1. Foster and uphold a culture of safety in the workplace.
2. Adhere to company protocols and legal requirements.
3. Promote environmental compliance.
4. Ensure that all work is executed safely and within the designated timelines.

Quality Assurance:
1. Advocate for best practices in engineering.
2. Follow company procedures diligently.
3. Strive for defect-free project delivery.
4. Identify and highlight opportunities for value engineering.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:
Desirable:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office.
- Experience in temporary works coordination.
- Valid CSCS card.
- Training in cable avoidance, first aid, and confined spaces.
- NEBOSH or IOSH certification.
Essential:
- Proven experience in setting out civil engineering projects.
- Comprehensive understanding of construction techniques, health and safety regulations, and legal compliance.
- Degree or HNC in civil engineering or equivalent.
- Exceptional communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
- Self-motivated and results-driven with a positive attitude.
- BPSS security clearance required with the capability to obtain a P4 pass.
