About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Deputy Manager/Play Worker to join our team at an After School Club in South East London.

As a Deputy Manager/Play Worker, you will play a key role in supporting the Manager and the rest of the team in delivering high-quality childcare and education to children aged [insert age range].

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Manager in the day-to-day running of the club, including planning and delivering activities, managing staff, and maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
  • Work closely with the Manager and other staff members to ensure the smooth operation of the club and the well-being of the children.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with parents and carers, keeping them informed about their child's progress and activities.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure the club meets the needs of children and families.
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the planning and evaluation of the club's activities and services.
Requirements
  • Level 3 or above relevant play/childcare qualification.
  • At least 12 months experience working in an Early Years/Primary setting.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
  • Ability to build strong, nurturing relationships with parents and children.
  • Passion for childcare and child development.
  • Ability to plan and lead stimulating and educational activities, while adhering to Early Years Foundation Stage standards.
  • Food Hygiene certificate, Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding Children (Desirable).
