About the Role:
Kent is seeking a Waste to Fuels Specialist to become part of our esteemed Low Carbon Consulting team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership for various contracts related to the design of Waste to Fuels production facilities.
- Support business development efforts, including delivering technical presentations to clients during the proposal phase and preparing comprehensive consultancy proposals.
- Oversee Waste to Fuels studies, including screening, feasibility assessments, conceptual definitions, and managing FEED/Detailed Design projects as a Technology Manager.
- Ensure studies are conducted to the highest standards while adhering to budget and schedule constraints. Manage resources effectively and report progress to clients and senior management.
- Participate actively in Energy Transition conferences and industry groups, contributing as a speaker.
- Direct and manage engineers and specialized consultants.
- Collaborate closely with clients to meet their needs.
- Prepare detailed reports and present findings to clients.
- Assume full technical ownership of projects.
Your Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline; Chartered Engineer status preferred.
- Extensive experience in Waste to Fuels studies, front-end design, and engineering management.
- In-depth knowledge of feedstock processing, conversion, upgrading, and fuel production.
- Proficiency in industry-standard simulation software.
- Comprehensive understanding of Waste to Fuels plant design and its interaction with feedstock supply and fuel off-take.
- Strong expertise in waste conversion processes and supporting utility systems.
- Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
- Proven leadership capabilities in consultancy teams.
- Experience in successfully managing complex studies.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks independently while adhering to schedules and budgets.
- Skilled in preparing cost estimates for studies.
- Innovative and practical thinking.
- Competent in structuring detailed technical reports and presentations.
- Proficient in discussing complex issues with clients and managing commercial aspects.
- Strong planning and forecasting skills.
- Understanding of construction requirements and their implications on project options.
- Willingness to explore new technology areas, including supporting the wider technology team in electrolytic hydrogen projects.
