About the Role:
Kent is seeking a Waste to Fuels Specialist to enhance our accomplished Low Carbon Consulting team in one of our UK offices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering technical expertise for Kent's various contracts related to the design of Waste to Fuels production facilities.
- Assisting in Consultancy Business Development, including technical presentations to clients during the proposal phase and crafting Consultancy Proposals (covering technical execution strategies, time estimates, and project scheduling).
- Overseeing Waste to Fuels studies, including screening, feasibility assessments, conceptual definitions, and managing FEED / Detailed Design projects as a Technology Manager, ensuring integration of third-party licensors and specialist vendors.
- Managing studies to the highest standards, adhering to budgetary and scheduling constraints. Identifying resource needs, overseeing daily operations, and regularly updating both clients and Senior Management on progress.
- Participating actively in Energy Transition conferences and industry groups as a speaker and contributor.
- Capable of directing engineers and specialist consultants.
- Collaborating closely with clients.
- Preparing reports and presenting findings to clients.
- Assuming full technical responsibility for assigned work.
Your Qualifications and Experience:
Knowledge/Qualifications/Training/Certification:
- A Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline. Chartered Engineer status is preferred.
- Extensive experience in Waste to Fuels studies, front-end design, and engineering management.
- Comprehensive understanding of feedstock processing, conversion, upgrading, and fuel production.
- Proficiency in industry-standard simulation software.
- Familiarity with the overall design of Waste to Fuels plants and their interaction with feedstock supply and fuel off-take.
- Strong expertise in waste conversion, intermediate cleanup, and fuel production units, along with necessary supporting utility systems.
- Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
- Proven capability in leading consultancy teams.
- Experience in successfully managing studies.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks independently while adhering to schedules and budgets.
- Proficient in preparing cost estimates for studies.
- Innovative, practical, and pragmatic thinking skills.
- Skilled in structuring complex technical reports and presentations.
- Ability to interface, present, and discuss intricate issues with clients, as well as manage study and commercial aspects.
- Strong planning and forecasting skills.
- Understanding of construction requirements and their potential impact on option selection.
- Adaptable to new technology areas, supporting the broader technology team in fields related to electrolytic hydrogen and SAF production.
