Assistant Director, Student Inclusion and Belonging Specialist

Job Summary:
Widener University is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated professional to serve as an Assistant Director, Student Inclusion and Belonging. This role will provide critical support and resources to the Student Engagement and Transformation Office, focusing on diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Development and Implementation:
- Design and deliver diversity and inclusion programs, workshops, and events for students, faculty, and staff.
- Collaborate with campus partners to develop and promote inclusive initiatives.
- Student Support and Advising:
- Provide guidance and support to the LGBTQA+ student organization and other student groups.
- Advise students on diversity and inclusion-related matters.
- Communication and Outreach:
- Develop and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders across campus.
- Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff to promote inclusive practices.
- Supervision and Administration:
- Supervise student employees and provide guidance on diversity and inclusion-related tasks.
- Assist with administrative duties, including budget management and reporting.
Requirements:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Student Personnel or a related field.
- Experience:
- 3+ years of professional experience in Multicultural Student Affairs or a related field.
- Experience in diversity programming, workshop facilitation, and student development.
- Skills:
- Strong administrative and supervisory skills.
- Ability to work with diverse individuals and groups.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education:
- Master's degree in Higher Education Administration or a related field.
- Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in Multicultural Student Affairs or a related field.
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Hours:
- This position may require evenings and weekends.
- In-person work during the academic year, with potential for hybrid work during non-academic periods.
