About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of People to lead our Human Resources department. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing HR initiatives that drive business results and support our organisational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and Manage the HR Department: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the HR department, ensuring that all HR functions are running smoothly and efficiently.
  2. Develop and Implement HR Initiatives: Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement HR initiatives that align with our business strategy and support our organisational goals.
  3. Ensure Compliance: Ensure that all HR practices and policies are in line with public sector regulations and company policies.
  4. Collaborate with Senior Management: Work closely with senior management to drive organisational goals and objectives.
  5. Oversee EVP and Reward: Oversee the development and implementation of employee value proposition (EVP) and reward strategies.
  6. Work with Unions: Collaborate with unions to ensure that HR practices and policies are in line with union agreements.
  7. Change Management and Process Improvement: Lead and manage change management and process improvement initiatives to drive business results.
  8. Manage Senior Stakeholders: Manage senior stakeholders and the leadership team to ensure that HR practices and policies are aligned with business objectives.
  9. Ensure Compliance with HR Policies and Procedures: Ensure that all HR policies and procedures are up-to-date and compliant with public sector regulations.
  10. Report on HR Metrics: Report regularly on HR metrics to inform decision-making and drive business results.

Requirements:

  1. Previous Experience: Previous experience of working in the public sector.
  2. Leadership and Organisational Skills: Excellent leadership and organisational skills.
  3. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Solution-Oriented Mindset: A solution-oriented mindset and the ability to handle pressure.
